A website proposal for James Novosel & Andrea Chelotti

Forty-six years of East Bay landmarks deserve a digital monograph to match.

Since 1980, The Bay Architects has shaped how Berkeley lives and gathers—delivering over 260 multi-family housing units and award-winning restorations from the Church of the Good Shepherd to the Francis K. Shattuck Building. Here is how Brandcore presents that legacy online.

Founded in 1980 by James Novosel (UC Berkeley ’71; EHDD, HOK, HGHB), the studio brings together urban design, Type V housing and landmark preservation. Architect & Project Manager Andrea Chelotti joined in 2001.

When developers, owners & review boards visit bayarch.com

Your buildings command respect. Your current website hides their scale.

For a property owner, developer or review board, bayarch.com can be the first introduction to your work. Three opportunities would make that introduction clearer.

www.bayarch.com · current layout
Current bayarch.com homepage showing small thumbnail strip and dated spacing
Current bayarch.com · small portfolio thumbnails
01Portfolio Scale
260+ Units

Landmark work is compressed into tiny thumbnails

Multi-family housing developments, commercial rehabilitations, and BAHA award-winning landmarks begin in small galleries. Bringing project narratives and key details into the first view would make your experience easier to assess.

What we build: Full-bleed sector portfolios with architectural spec sheets.
02Entitlements & Trust
46 Years

Berkeley permitting & Type V mastery are buried in plain text

Developers and institutional clients searching for an East Bay architect with deep City of Berkeley zoning, community outreach, and Type V code mastery must hunt through dense paragraphs.

What we build: Dedicated capabilities & awards showcase for selection panels.
03Studio Intake
1-Tap

No structured project consultation pathway on mobile or desktop

The current Contact page uses raw spacing without a guided project inquiry form, interactive map to 1840B Alcatraz Avenue, or one-tap calling to (510) 420-1484.

What we build: Guided project scope intake routed straight to James & Andrea.
